About Karen
Karen Fernandez was born in Malaysia and migrated to Australia with her parents in 1978. Her family initially lived in small towns in country New South Wales, before finally settling in Sydney. Karen enjoyed writing and art, while she was growing up and dreamed of one day writing her own novel. She spent her high school years in Sydney and went to the University of Wollongong in Wollongong; she completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting.
After completing her degree, Karen secured a Graduate Traineeship at the Office of State Revenue in New South Wales. She worked in the Department for a few years, then moved to Melbourne and got married. While raising her children she worked in a variety of accounting roles. Karen was always interested in real estate and in 2001 she started to invest in property. In 2004 she divorced and now lives with her children in Melbourne.
Karen is a motivational coach who has a passion to help people achieve their goals. Karen is also a meditation teacher as she has found that meditation is a useful tool which allows the mind to relax, so that life can be more enjoyable. She has written a motivational book to empower women to make life changes to have a better life.
Karen continues to balance her work as an accountant, property investor with being a mother. She loves to read, draw, paint and walk to relax.
Karen’s perfect idea of a relaxing day would be to lie beside a pool (in the shade) with a good book.
